We choose our high-quality materials with lots of care and expertise.

The cardboard that is developed exclusively for us and the special linen paper guarantee a unique feel and durability. Reflections and light reflections on the jigsaw are therefore minimised. Thanks to the handmade punching tools we've developed ourselves, we can cut jigsaw pieces so precisely that one fits perfectly into the other. Along with the precisely cut edges, this exact fit guarantees that your photo jigsaw holds together perfectly.

Questions about photo jigsaws

What should I consider to make sure that the photo I choose looks good as a jigsaw?

Print quality:
The print quality of your photo jigsaw relies greatly on the image quality of your photo. The general rule is the larger the jigsaw, the larger the format of your photo should be. For good print quality, we recommend that the following image format in pixels, with a minimum resolution of 150 dpi (300 dpi is ideal for photo jigsaws):

49 pieces: 1063 x 1063 pixels (WxH)
100 / 200 / 300 / 500 pieces: 2125 x 2893 pixels (WxH)
1000 pieces: 2953 x 4134 pixels (WxH)
1500 pieces: 4724 x 3543 pixels (WxH)
2000 pieces: 5788 x 4430 pixels (WxH)
72 pieces frame puzzle : 1506 x 1978 pixels (WxH)

If the resolution of your image is not suited to the selected format, you will not be able to proceed with the order. You can then select a different jigsaw format or upload another image file with the necessary quality.

Image section:
When printing your photo jigsaw, some milimetres may be lost around the edges. Please therefore make sure when choosing a section of an image that there are no important details around the edge of the photo, such as titles or signatures. We recommend planning for a buffer of approx. 1 cm around the edge of the design to make sure all relevant details are included in your jigsaw design.

Tips:

Please make sure that your image is not blurred or out of focus, as this can have a negative effect on the quality of your photo product.
The photo jigsaw is easier to do if there are lots of different colours visible on your image.
Light, bright colours are easier to make a jigsaw with than dark, matte colours.
Sharp shapes are important, even in the background of the design. This will make it easier to find the matching pieces.

Can I also personalise my jigsaw's cardboard or metal box and add a title or something similar?

You can add a title or another text with a maximum length of 40 characters to be printed on the box or the label of the metal box. For most jigsaws, you can choose between different designs and colours on the packaging.

What photo is displayed on the front of the box?

The jigsaw design is displayed on the box of the jigsaw, specifically the section that you have chosen for your jigsaw.

Can I create a collage out of multiple pictures?

In our Online Designer, you have the option to create collages of your pictures. There are some templates available for you to use. You can of course upload a collage you have already created as a design.

Collages cannot be made for the following photo jigsaws:

Can I customise the image after uploading?

Once you have uploaded an image, you can manually crop an area of the image to appear on your Ravensburger photo puzzle. You can move, enlarge, and reduce the size of the cropped area any way you like. Please ensure that, when cropping the image, no important details are placed at the edge of your image. These details may otherwise be omitted during the manufacturing process, so ensure that important details such as headlines or captions are placed around a centimetre (or more) from the edge of the design. We also recommend that you ensure that any important elements of the image itself are placed similarly far away from the edge.

Is the quality of my Ravensburger puzzles different from the quality of puzzles that I can buy in the shops?

The same materials are used in the manufacture of my Ravensburger puzzles as for normal Ravensburger puzzles. Production is carried out to an extremely high standard; our manufacturing process involves every single product being finished by hand and carefully checked to ensure that Ravensburger’s quality standards are met.

Can I use the Puzzle Conserver with my personalised my Ravensburger puzzle?

The Puzzle Conserver Permanent is ideal for my Ravensburger photo jigsaws. You can easily stick your photo jigsaw together and hang it up using this special glue that has been specially developed for Ravensburger jigsaws. The Puzzle Conserver Permanent also seals the surface of the photo jigsaw so that your design stays brighter for longer.
