Description

To celebrate the 30th birthday of the beloved classic, there is a limited anniversary edition that can be played in two game variations: in the classic light, as all Labyrinth fans already know it, and for the first time in complete darkness thanks to high-quality glow-in-the-dark paint! A fascinating gaming experience not just for Kids!
The basic rules are familiar to all fans. Mysterious items and creatures have to be found in an enchanted maze.

Each player tries to clear the way by skillfully moving the maze. To do this, the movable maze tiles are pushed in from one side of the playing field so far that exactly one maze tile is pushed out on the other side. By moving it, the path to the treasure can be cleared. Tactics and a bit of luck are required to get a good starting position for the next train. The first player to find all their treasures wins this team game. The glowing version requires a dark room and the walls of the Labyrinth and the game pieces glow a magical green. Suddenly, the twelve treasures that were hidden in the light appear. The corresponding cards, also printed with noctilucent colors, extend the game. The exciting hunt for the magic treasures takes on a whole new twist.

Rating 5 out of 5 stars.
Danke, Ravensburger :-)

Great anniversary edition that does full justice to the original

Rating 5 out of 5 stars.
I received "Das verrückte Labyrinth 30 Jahre Jubiläumsedition" (The Crazy Labyrinth 30th Anniversary Edition) free of charge for testing purposes through the Amazon Vine programme and reviewed it on Amazon.de. There you will also find a photo gallery accompanying the article. Here I would like to briefly post the conclusion of my review: Ravensburger has delivered a memorable "anniversary edition" of this classic game. It is particularly memorable in that it remains completely faithful to the original game – referred to as the "basic game" in the language of the "anniversary edition" – and only enhances it in a targeted and careful manner. The "anniversary editions" of other games have made many mistakes in this regard, or have unfortunately all too often been stylised into particularly shiny, glittering or particularly complex editions, completely losing sight of the actual game principle, which has been successful for many years. In other words, for some "anniversary editions", the actual game has been "thrown overboard". Here, the opposite is true: Ravensburger presents us with a very successful "basic game" that is very close to the original and can be expanded with a game in the "Glowing Labyrinth" if desired (!), which is then played in complete darkness. Those who opt for this game variant play the game in a "day" phase and a "night" phase and then add up the corresponding "treasure points" so that there is a winner at the end. This is quite fun in that players who may have seemed like "winners" in the "day" phase can still become "losers" in the "night" phase, and vice versa. In conclusion, this is a very well-made "anniversary edition" that offers value (keyword: "structure on the cards") and a nice additional game concept (glowing game board for playing in the dark), thus doing full justice to the classic. Thank you, Ravensburger :-)
