Kids love to paint by numbers. It’s the best fun for them. What they don’t realise is that it’s helping them develop, too. Paint by numbers is terrific for training concentration, fine motor skills and developing creativity. It’s also a brilliant way to calm down after an exciting day. How does paint by numbers for kids work?

There’s paint by numbers - then there’s Ravensburger CreArt paint by numbers. We understand kids can be messy and impatient so our kits are designed to get them going as quickly as possible - and so it doesn’t matter if they go over the lines a little bit. 

So, the lines on a CreArt paint by numbers aren’t black - they’re colour matched to the paint. So no worries about going over the lines - and even easier to find the right colour. The painting board is super thick and sturdy. The brush is great quality. The paint pots have proper resealable lids that you can use over and over again. And the paint itself is water based, so if a little bit gets on clothes, or the tablecloth, or the cat - it’s not a problem.

Who is CreArt paint by numbers for?

CreArt is for children of all ages - but not all children have the same needs. So, we’ve made sure that different CreArt paint by numbers sets are perfect for children of different ages. 

Paint by numbers for 5 and 6 year olds

Our sets for younger children are made to be simple and accessible. The painting designs are big and bold. The brushes are designed for little hands. Some details are pre-printed and you even get two different designs in the box. 

Paint by numbers for 7 and 8 year olds

As kids get older, their motor skills and abilities improve. So these sets are more of a challenge - there’s more detail to focus on, and plenty of well-loved characters and designs to choose from. 

Paint by numbers for 9 year olds and above

These kits are a perfect bridge from the simple sets for younger children to complex adult designs. They’ll challenge older kids with detailed designs that demand concentration - but not so much it stops them having fun.
